Position: Partner and Chair of the Litigation Department
Practice Areas:
Ms. Thomas has been a partner in the litigation department since 2001. Her practice is focused upon civil litigation including personal injury, medical malpractice, nursing home negligence, wrongful death, dog bites, commercial litigation, business and partnership disputes, land use disputes, employment issues, and estate litigation. Before joining Lacy Katzen LLP in 1994, Ms. Thomas practiced at an Albany firm focusing on insurance defense and coverage issues, particularly in arson cases. That experience has given her a unique perspective into the operations of insurance companies. She currently handles any insurance litigation cases, examinations under oath and insurance coverage issues that arise for our clients.

Professional and Community Affiliations
Ms. Thomas has been on the Board of Trustees for the Aquinas Institute since 1999. She is a founding member and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Justinian Order of St. John Fisher College in Rochester. She is also a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Monroe County Bar Association, the New York State Trial Lawyers' Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, the Women's Bar Association of the State of New York, the Greater Rochester Association of Women Attorneys, and NAPIL.
Honors
Ms. Thomas has been included in a national publication of outstanding attorneys Who's Who in American Law since 1994. She is also included in Cambridge's Who's Who Among Executive and Professional Women, Honors Edition. She is a member of the Albany Law School Justinian Society and a past recipient of the West Publishing Award for outstanding academic achievement.
