Michael Schnittman joined Lacy, Katzen, Greene and Jones, the predecessor of Lacy Katzen LLP, in 1969 upon graduation from the Cornell Law School. In 1979, Mr. Schnittman became Chair of the Collection Department.
Mr. Schnittman has been instrumental in developing and expanding the collection practice to the present day, a premier Collection Department in Upstate New York. The Department consists of over 15 persons, who have been with the Department for an average of nearly 10 years.

Mr. Schnittman has lectured extensively to both bar association and business groups and is considered an authority on Collection Law. He is a member of the following professional organizations:

- Commercial Law League of America
- National Association of Retail Collection Attorneys

- Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Volunteer Legal Services Project (VLSP)

On a personal note...
Mr. Schnittman is an avid, however not very successful at times, fisherman. In the winter months he enjoys skiing.
