Peter T. Rodgers represents individuals in trials involving personal injury, medical malpractice, product liability, wrongful death and business disputes. His work in medical malpractice has involved cardiac, neurologic, obstetrical, orthopaedic, vascular, infectious disease, lawsuits including the failure to diagnose cancer, heart disease and infectious disease. He represents victims of surgical error and emergency room neglect. He has represented those injured or killed in auto, trucking, premises and work place
accidents.
Drawing on his expertise, Mr. Rodgers lectures on civil litigation and trial practice, as well as topics such as malpractice prevention and legal ethics. He has lectured for the New York State Bar Association, New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, the Monroe County Bar Association, the New York State Medical Society and the School of Nursing at the University of Rochester. He has presented in the Masters in Trial Program of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has written articles on trial practice involving pre-suit activities, evidence, damages, strategies and motion practice. In November 2007 and 2009, Mr. Rodgers chaired seminars sponsored by the New York State Medical Association entitled
"Prosecuting and Defending Medical Malpractice Claims".
Mr. Rodgers is listed in Best Lawyers in America and New York Super Lawyers. He is an Advocate in the American Board of Trial Advocates. He holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He has served as a Trustee of the Monroe County Bar Association and as Chair of the Courts Committee. He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. He is a past president of the Genesee Valley Trial Lawyers Association. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum which is limited to lawyers who have demonstrated exceptional skill, experience and excellence in advocacy.
Mr. Rodgers is a fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America. The LCA is an honorary trial lawyer society whose membership is limited to less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers. Fellowship in the LCA is highly selective and by invitation only. Fellows are selected based upon excellence and accomplishment in litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels, and superior ethical reputation.
Mr. Rodgers was appointed as Chair of the Attorney Grievance Committee of the Seventh Judicial District by the Appellate Division, Fourth Department and served in that capacity from 2002 until 2005. He serves as the Chair of the Board of Trustees, McQuaid Jesuit High School, Rochester, New York.
Mr. Rodgers is a graduate of Fordham University and earned his law degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is admitted to practice before the New York State Courts and United States District Courts.
