Construction Accidents

Construction sites are often very dangerous places to work.  Recognizing the inherent dangers at a construction site, our State legislators have enacted special laws that afford workers greater protection than workers in other professions.

At construction sites and during building repairs, the owner and the general contractor must provide certain safeguards.  If a worker can establish that he or she was injured because of an unsafe condition, the worker may be entitled to make a claim for injuries beyond the remedies available under the Workers Compensation system.  There are special statutes that have been enacted to protect workers who fall from an elevated workplace, such as a ladder or scaffold as well as those who are injured by falling objects.  Our attorneys have experience handling construction site litigation.  If you have been injured at a construction site, you should contact an attorney promptly so that an investigation may be begun into the circumstances of your injury and whether any safety regulations have been violated.  Contact Peter T. Rodgers, Esq. at prodgers@lacykatzen.com or 585.324.5707 or Jacqueline M. Thomas, Esq. at jthomas@lacykatzen.com or 585.324.5717.
