Eminent Domain
Eminent domain is broadly defined as the power of the state to take private property for public use without the consent of the owner. An owner whose property has been taken by eminent domain as part of a condemnation proceeding is entitled to "just compensation". The attorneys at Lacy Katzen have represented both municipalities and owners in the prosecution and defense of condemnation proceedings and as such are uniquely qualified to handle representation in this area of law.
