Timothy Muck represents clients in developing comprehensive estate planning strategies to achieve family and business planning objectives while minimizing emotional and financial challenges. He counsels clients on all aspects of business and estate planning matters including estate, gift and income tax planning; preparation of wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care proxies and beneficiary designations. His experience as a tax practitioner enables him to formulate solutions for entrepreneurial clients seeking harmonization of their estate and business succession plans.
Business Law Matters
Tim counsels business owners in addressing the myriad legal issues facing a business, including succession planning, financing transactions, mergers and acquisition, minimizing liabilities and the formation and structuring of business entities, including corporations and limited liability companies. Tim works with business owners to develop owner agreements such as shareholders’, operating and buy-sell agreements which achieve business and personal objectives while addressing taxation concerns.
Tim is committed to developing the best personal and business plan for his clients to meet their needs and objectives. He believes the key elements in this process are communication among owners and professionals, a strong knowledge base and a skilled understanding of the business and the needs of the business owner.

Tim is listed in the Super Lawyers for 2013, 2014 and 2015 as an Upstate New York "Rising Star".
Tim is a member of the Monroe County Bar Association, where he currently serves on the Business Law Council, most recently as Chair. He is also a member of the New York State Bar Association, Taxation and Trusts and Estates Sections. Additionally, Tim is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Rochester.
Tim speaks regularly on estate, business and taxation topics for numerous professional, financial planning and community organizations.
In May 2012, Tim spoke at the Monroe County Bar Association continuing legal education program, “Pre and Post-Nuptial Agreements”, where he presented on estate planning and tax considerations for attorneys when representing clients contemplating marriage.
In May 2013, Tim served as chairperson of “Executive Compensation and Section 409A”, a Monroe County Bar Association continuing legal education program educating business attorneys on IRS deferred compensation rules in connection with designing compensation packages for executives.
In November 2013, Tim spoke at the 48th Annual Tax Institute presented by the Tax Sections of the Monroe County Bar Association and NYS Society of CPAs, Rochester Chapter, where he presented on recent developments concerning federal estate and gift tax laws.
Tim serves on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Rochester and is also a member of the agency’s Finance Committee. Prior to relocating to Rochester, Tim volunteered as a Big Brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region.
Tim resides in Chili, New York with his wife, daughter and son. He enjoys travelling to new destinations and assisting his wife in photographing scenery. Tim is also an eternally optimistic Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan and enjoys following professional English and Spanish soccer leagues.
