3M Company is currently facing thousands of product liability suits around the country, brought by active and former military service members concerning their use of the Combat Arms Earplugs. These earplugs were provided to soldiers in the US military between the years of 2003 and 2015 and are alleged to have been defective in that they failed to provide adequate ear protection. Users of the earplugs complain that they suffered hearing loss or tinnitus following use of the earplugs. According to recent court records, the parties involved in the federal litigation have entered into a tolling agreement. Pursuant to the agreement, signed by US district Court Justice Rodgers on August 27, 2019, certain claimants would have extended time limitations for filing a claim. Although this is good news for claimants who may have previously thought their time limitations had expired, it is important to contact an attorney as soon as possible to explore whether or not you may have a claim. Sometimes, such agreements lull claimants into inaction. It is always best to contact an attorney as soon as possible so that your claim can be preserved. If you or a loved one served our country in the military from 2003-2015 and have documented hearing loss or tinnitus, please contact our office to speak with one of our personal injury attorneys today.
