As a regional law firm to the Rochester area, Lacy Katzen continuously strives to be involved in the community. This year, Lacy Katzen employees were asked to anonymously nominate an organization in the community at which the Firm would volunteer. Employees then voted on the organization that they wanted to support. Based on this process, the Firm has elected to partner with CURE Childhood Cancer, a nationally recognized non-profit organization in peer to peer support for families with children diagnosed with cancer and blood disorders. CURE’s goal is to improve “the lives of children and their families coping with childhood cancer or chronic blood disorders by providing emotional, educational, social and financial assistance; promoting and funding research toward a cure.”
Throughout the year, CURE hosts a variety of events for children with cancer and blood disorders. Lacy Katzen employees – staffers and attorneys alike – will be volunteering their time at these events in support of CURE, and the children and families who suffer from cancer diagnoses. Most recently, a team of Lacy Katzen employees volunteered at a golf tournament at the Chili Country Club, assisting the CURE staff with registration, manning the holes around the course, selling raffle tickets, and providing the tournament participants with beverages. It was very fulfilling to be a part of something bigger and give back to the community in which our Firm was built.

Just like our Firm, CURE prides itself on its commitment and service to the families in and around the Rochester area. The purpose behind both CURE and Lacy Katzen are similar at the core—to work with and help people through complex situations. We are very excited to support such a great cause.
