Roundup Weed & Grass Killer

Written by attorney Jacqueline M. Thomas

In the third case concluding that Roundup can cause cancer, jurors awarded a California couple $2 billion in damages against its manufacturer, Monsanto.  Alva and Alberta Pilliod, a couple in their 70s, argued that years of use of Monsanto’s Roundup® herbicide caused them each to develop non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

The Pilliods testified that they sprayed Monsanto’s herbicide Roundup on their three properties  for weed control over a period of more than 30 years. Both eventually developed non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a type of cancer.  Alva was diagnosed in 2011 and Alberta was diagnosed in 2015.

If you or a loved one has been diagnosed with cancer after significant exposure to Roundup products, the personal injury attorneys at Lacy Katzen may be able to assist you.  We are currently reviewing cases involving a diagnosis of non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (NCL) and certain subtypes including diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), follicular lymphoma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL), Burkitt lymphoma, lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma, hairy cell leukemia (HCL), mantle cell lymphoma, marginal zone B-cell lymphomas, B -lymphoblastic lymphoma (LL), T-cell lymphomas; peripheral T-cell lymphomas (PTCL), large granular lymphocytic leukemia (LGL), anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL) and rare types of NHL;  extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma (MALT), nodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma, splenic marginal zone B-cell lymphoma, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma and primary central nervous system lymphoma.
