Prior to joining Lacy Katzen, Josh worked in both the private and public sectors. Before beginning at Notre Dame Law School, Josh worked over two years for a law firm in Syracuse, New York where he worked closely with clients and gained experience in immigration law and litigation. During law school, Josh worked for Mental Hygiene Legal Service, and the Honorable Judge Erin Gall of the New York State Supreme Court, Fifth Judicial District. In those capacities, Josh performed legal research, drafted legal memoranda, assisted on pending cases, and observed pre-trial conferences, motions, and trials.
Knowing he wanted to be a litigator, Josh focused his law school education accordingly: representing individuals seeking asylum through Notre Dame Law School’s National Immigrant Justice Center Externship, participating in one of the nation’s top Intensive Trial Advocacy programs, and training on retention, preparation, and examination of expert witnesses taught by a partner of a top Chicago law firm.
