Matthew Ryen is a native Rochesterian. He enjoys the satisfaction he gets from counseling individuals and businesses in a broad range of legal matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Matt was a law clerk at the United States Department of the Interior, National Indian Gaming Commission, which is the body that regulates gaming on Indian lands. He assisted in the review and approval of casino management contracts and tribal gaming laws.
Matt enjoys working with individuals and businesses in a variety of legal matters. He draws on significant experience in corporate and real estate transactions, as well as his knowledge of debtor creditor law. This depth of knowledge in both the transactional arena and the rights of creditors helps Matt provide his clients with a high level of counseling that benefits them in business acquisition, financing, municipal and development initiatives, as well as the formation of business alliances.
Matt works with clients to acquire the stock and assets of companies; secure local development agency financing; complete deferred tax exchanges; perform due diligence associated with the provision of capital to business entities; navigate contractual arrangements related to licensing, partnership, confidentiality and non-disclosure, the provision of services and more; lend money; collect money owed to them; plan the disposition of client assets upon death; lease and develop real property; and address various employment law matters.
Matt resides in Brighton, New York, with his wife and two children. He enjoys spending time with his family, reading, running, sailing and visiting with friends.
